Alert: Home Warranty Scam Letters. Bank of Clarke County customers have been reporting that they have received letters in the mail urgently requesting homeowners to purchase a home warranty, claiming that the current home warranty
“may be expiring or may have already expired.” We can confirm that these did not come from the Bank and are in fact a scam. We advise discarding the notices when you receive them. To learn more, click here.
Through our downloadable app, Mobile Deposit Capture turns a smartphone into a deposit-making device. Use your phone’s camera to snap a picture of the front and back of each check and then submit the images electronically to the bank and your account.
Mobile deposit capture includes fraud prevention features such as duplicate detection. The image quality assurance features ensure that check images are acceptable. If a mobile deposit is rejected, the user is notified immediately and given the reason for the rejection.
Here are some of the benefits of Mobile Deposit Capture:
Effective July 1, 2018, Bank of Clarke County will require a new endorsement for mobile deposits as a result of policy changes. The new endorsement will read “FOR MOBILE DEPOSIT ONLY – BANK OF CLARKE COUNTY”. Failure to properly endorse mobile deposits after July 1st will result in the rejection of the deposit.
This change will help us avoid costly fraud. Thank you in advance for your help with this policy change – and thank you for your continued patronage!
